If you Google puerto plato you can look at the menu. Im not sure if they serve sandwiches.
Not at all ...
Yes call them. The food is great.
Love it. Favorite is the seafood soup. Clean, good food, and good portions.
The food is very good! Taste like home and the hot sauce is so good, I bought a bottle to take home 😀
Tasty food overall. Small changes would make it amazing, but it's just my opinion. The house salad dressing is very salty. The empanada filling was a texture nightmare of soft, chewy, and slimy. Orange rice was forgettable, but plentiful. The beef was cooked well, heavily seasoned, and tender. The hot sauce is very good, but also a little salty. The pan con ajo was great, served hot and toasty.
The best Puerto Rican/ Dominican food I have ever ate! My children love the food too!
It's warm, cozy, friendly, food is always amazing, it just feels like home!
The food was flavorful & delicious. Service was ok. I will definitely return.
Good service, good food, reasonable prices, great flan for dessert
The best value for Latin food in JAX with daily weekday specials along with a menu that is available on all other days. The daily specials are an excellent value at $6,99 or $7,99 and large portions that can be shared just to try a different plate every day. The biggest mistake people make here is not understanding that the fried chicken here is NOT LIKE Popeye’s, KFC, Or other fried chicken-they are chunks of chicken deep fried and perfectly seasoned. They are similar to Mexican style masitas (chunked pork). 5 Stars
We use to come to this restaurant every weekend. But we got very bad experience today. Service was bad, and when we asked for the check....surprise!!! They charged $2.00 additional to the price on the menu. Is they raised them, should tell their clients before placing the order. Don't think that? Plus the amount of food were smaller than usually. Definitely we don't know what is happening in Puerto Plata, but don't recomend to go there, neither we will!!!
Excellent food! Chivo, Carne Asada also the fish was delicious, great food prices ok
Pork sandwich was delicious as was the hot sauce and sweet tea. Decent little place to grab lunch
Loves the beans and rice...best I've had in a long time!
Never been a huge fan of Porto rican food. Went here on recommendation of several friends and was not disappointed. The fried chicken was delicious.
Service was really good! A really nice homey feel inside the restaurant, the food was very authentic, felt like I was there, they also have a home made hot sauce that is to die for! Don’t judge this place by its cover, go in and enjoy the food!
The Arroz con pollio (?) Is the best. And they give you tons. I will eat that stuff for days! ❤️
As always the food was delicious! I eat here all the time. Service is friendly and food delicious!
Everything was good...chicken, pork, plantains, Passion Fruit juice. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff.
Good food great service.Nice clean cozy environment.
Chicken stew with pigeon peas and rice was my choice. My husband picked the fried pork with yellow rice and red beans.Had both of these before. The fried pork was perfect this time. The stew was tender and delicious as before. Remember to ask for "hot sauce" that perks the rice up to the next level!
Great food great atmosphere..if you can get lucky and they're actually open when online it says they're open. Cant call and get an answer. BUT, awesome dishes nonetheless!
The food was delicious! I ordered the Rice & Pigeon Peas, Mofongo, Fried Plantain, & Dominican Fried Chicken. The staff was AMAZING & so friendly! I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience!
When I come down from south Florida it's a place I must visit all the time.! Great food and service.
Puerto Plata has been a great restaurant for long time. The food is fantastic, the service is good and has a casual atmosphere that makes it perfect to have a good time with the family enjoying the Dominican cuisine. Feel free to order almost anything from the menu. It will be delicious.
Awesome place, nice environment, good service and food.
Great food and staff. me and my fiance and step daughter had the best service. She loved it and it was first time there. She asked can she go every week from now on.😊
The best food to eat I would all my friends to go and eat there.
Nice foods :D
Typical Dominican food. Cooked that taste just like home.Love their deep fried whole fish with rice, black beans and ripped plantains and ofcourse a glass of "Presidente" beer.
I grew up in South Florida, so moving to the Jacksonville area was tough, when it came to finding great Hispanic food. Luckily we found Puerto Plata. Great environment, and some of the best food I've had.
It's a great food. The menu is more Puerto Rican food then Dominican cuisine.
Oh my G! Why does the best mofongo place have to be so far from home! I love this restuarant. The mofongo 😍 I loved how it seemed kinda homey with personal pictures, art etc through out the restaurant. The staff is very sweet and I wish it were closer!
Great service great food definitely visit again very friendly and nostalgic took me right back to Puerto Rico
FOOD AND SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD FOR MY 1ST EXPERIENCE IN THIS RESTAURANT
It was so delicious. And so much of it. (I typically don't eat a lot).
I absolutely love Puerto Plata! The Bistec Encebollado (Beef) and Pernil (Tender Roast Pork) dinners are my go-to meals. The atmosphere of the restaurant is calm and inviting with friendly service although most of the time I call in my order and take it home to enjoy. Don't forget to ask for the garlic sauce and their homemade hot sauces ($0.50 each). They do have four of their homemade sauces and marinades available for sale in glass jars. They would probably be a great addition to my arsenal of condiments at home because I enjoy the flavors of the food here. They would also make a great gift. The milk cake is also a sweet treat after your meal. Yumminess 😋
My family and friends love this place . Excellent food , generous portions , good price , and fantastic service . The lady who owns the restaurant and the staff are always very kind and helpful . I highly recommend it .
Great food and service well be back again
Best Dominican food, service and prices. Staff is super friendly. I would eat there everyday if I could.
Amazing food I’m from the Bahamas .... but I love me some Spanish food!!
The food is great. The atmosphere is pleasant. The staff are nice people. Did I say the food was great? It is! I was expecting it to be bad, but I was expecting that much savory flavor either. Do yourself a favor and stop by!
Prices are not expensive at all ... They are VERY generous with their portions.. I usually eat here ... (minimum) twice a week...Overall... this is the BEST Dominican restaurant I have came across in Jacksonville!! AMAZING food and GREAT staff.. I enjoy sitting on the patio and have my lunch/dinner!! I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE!! 💕
Love the rice and beans it's my favorite
I had the fried pork chunks and onions with yellow rice. A salad and a side of sweet plantains. It reminded me of Miami. And everything was delicious. You have to season your own food. But I'm not a picky eater it was great. I will be going back to try something else on the menu.
Service very nice, food not what I expected kind of plain for my taste
This is our family second time eating here the food is really great and the staff is friendly, thanks.
Best Latino food i have come across here in Jacksonville. Loved the atmosphere, and service was very personable. Prices are very reasonable. I would definitely recommend, and will be one of my favorite places to eat.
Every person I've taken here has loved it. There aren't many places I feel the desire to take others to, but this place is amazing.
This is it. Dominican food doesn't get any better than this. A-one flavor. The roast pork is my favorite. Coming from a Dominican. Cocinan buenisimo.
LOVE IT. First time there and i cant wait to take some friends and family. I want to give it 4.5-explanation in a sec. We had the Steak sandwich, Roast Pork with yellow rice & black beans; Bistec Encebollada white rice & red beans. When you walk into this place you have a warm home feeling. The FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. Every bite was worth it. The pork stew was amazingly tender with bold pork flavor. The black beans were also full of the flavor. The Bistec - was just as tender and delicious. The only not nice thing i can say was that one waiter was dressed as if he just rolled out of bed. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK FOR MORE.
Excellent excellent excellent!!!I have not had a bad meal here to date!Everything has been so full of flavor and spice.A little bit pricy but wellllllll worth it!
